Robbery attempt foiled by alert victim

Special Photo: Tyree Jarvour Gardner, fled from police on foot, when he was spotted by a McDonough officer named Augustine. Officer Augustine caught Gardner, 18, of McDonough, who was identified by witnesses at the Cracker Barrel, and he was arrested and charged with attempted robbery.

A woman used her car alarm to prevent a would-be robber from taking her purse. The man was apprehended later the same day, following a foot chase by police.

The victim told McDonough police she was at the Cracker Barrel restaurant Sunday, located at 1124 Ga. Highway 20/81, when she was approached by a man asking for money.
