Paul Edward Stone Paul Edward Stone, of Hampton, passed away at his home following a short illness with lung cancer. Mr. Stone was born on March 26, 1928, in Elbert, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Baxter and Annie Mae Hodge Stone; a sister, Juanita Ruth Stone; and a brother, Ralph Stone. He served in the United States Army as a medic, from 1952, until 1954, and was trained as a combat medic to be deployed to Korea. He was a commercial and residential construction contractor for many years, and then worked and retired from Eckerd Drug Company in March of 1997. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Lovejoy, and gave his service willingly in many areas of his church. Paul leaves behind his beloved and devoted wife of 46 years, Martha (Bolton), formerly of Tucker; son, Paul Tankesley, Chaplain, Connecticut; grandchildren, Jamie Fredrickson, of Dallas, Ga., and Joshua Tankesley, of Douglasville; three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Haley and James Fredrickson; brothers, Orville (Shirley) Stone, of Hampton, and Earl Stone, of Gary W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, March 11, at Mowell Funeral Home, 180 N. Jeff Davis Drive, Fayetteville, Ga. The service will be in the chapel of Mowell Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, March 12. Rev. Michael E. Hardin and Rev. Larry Graves will officiate.
