McDONOUGH — An autistic teenager was found a few miles from her house after a day-long search that began around 12 a.m. Thursday.

Julia Palmer’s family reported her missing from their home on Springvalley Circle in Stockbridge. They told police the 16-year-old was wearing a blue T-shirt with “United States” written across the front, but she had left two very important items at home — her glasses and a bracelet with a GPS tracking device that she usually wears at all times.
