I do appreciate the Governor expressing concern about the current issues in children receiving instruction. However, I have no reason to believe he understands the condition of education in Georgia, in a normal school year. I translate standardized test scores, and I can show using the technical data provided by the Georgia Department of Education that more than 90% of Milestones test-takers in 2019 failed to earn an “equivalent classroom grade” of 70 or better on the Milestones.
And if anyone believes they have the math skills to prove me wrong, please try.
The reason the condition of education is in the condition it is is because of a massive leadership failure, which had years to prepare for a pandemic. Link to government report can be provided.
