McDONOUGH — Walmart has apologized to a local family after an employee at the McDonough Walmart refused to make a cake for a retiring law enforcement officer, but the customer is still in shock and reeling from the insult.

Jordan Harkins went to the Walmart on Willow Drive Thursday to order a cake for her father, who was retiring after 25 years as a police officer with MARTA.
