Mr. Ronnie Washington, age 62, of Jackson, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at his residence. He was born on Nov. 5, 1948 in Griffin, to Leonard Gordon and Sara Ruth Cook Washington. He enjoyed fishing, antique engines and tractors, spending time with his granddaughter, Kelley, and his dog, Katie. He loved his family and friends. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Sandra Watson Washington; son, Jeff Washington; granddaughter, Kelley Washington; mother, Sara Washington Kelley; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Judy Washington; nephew, Brad and Monica Washington; mother-in-law, Geraldine Watson; two sisters-in-law, Patti Smith and Elaine Jones, all of Jackson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Gordon Washington. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, in the Chapel of Sherrell Funeral Home with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment was at Jackson City Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday evening. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrellfh.com.
