World War II veteran honored

The Henry County Board of Commissioners issued a special proclamation Tuesday to World War II veteran and Hampton resident Johnny C. Mosley Sr. in recognition of his 100th birthday coming up Aug. 31. Mosley was surrounded by his family and friends as he accepted the proclamation at the Board of Commissioners meeting. Mosley was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1943 and served in the Pacific. He served until 1946 and some of his medals included the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and Marksmanship Badges (Rifle).
