ATLANTA – As Helene continued its exit from Georgia and winds begin to die down Friday, Georgia Department of Transportation crews are out assessing the damage and impacts to the state’s transportation infrastructure caused by flooding, downed trees, and downed power lines.
The current state of emergency remains in place in Georgia until Wednesday. Georgia DOT asks for the public's patience as its personnel works in partnership with federal, state and local officials to assess the damage and begin cleanup efforts statewide.
