Fans can help Chase Elliott qualify for NASCAR All-Star Race

McDONOUGH — Local NASCAR talents from Atlanta Motor Speedway’s Thursday Thunder series will participate in the Sprint All-Star Race, among them Chase Elliott, who will make his first career All-Star attempt.

Elliott is the 20-year-old driver making waves in the Sprint Cup series since taking over for legendary driver Jeff Gordon. Through the first 12 races of the NASCAR season, Elliott has earned two pole positions this season, one of which came at the prestigious Daytona 500 in the first week of the season.
