The legend of Hank Gathers continues to captivate people 30 years after his death.

Wednesday marked the 30-year anniversary of the somber day in which Gathers, a star center for Loyola Marymount, collapsed during a West Coast Conference tournament game on the school's campus in Los Angeles and later died. He was 23 years old.
