After coming up short the last five seasons, Eagles Landing Christian finally got its Georgia High School Association state title. The Chargers became the first Henry County school to win a GHSA football title. Jonathan Gess team started the season at No. 1 in the Associated Press poll with a season of high expectations. The Chargers were able to weather injuries to key players like running back/linebacker Keyante Green, defensive end Isaac Rochell and quarterback Dalton Etheridge.

In the last three seasons, the Chargers have gone 37-4 and won three straight Region 5-A titles.
