UFC president Dana White and light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones continued their war of words, with the former launching a verbal jab while the latter took to Twitter early Sunday morning to ask for his release from his contract.

The public spat began after Jones pushed for a bigger payday to move to the heavyweight class for a potential bout against Francis Ngannou. When White balked at the move, Jones labeled him "a (expletive) liar," encouraged him to reveal text messages about the payday in the neighborhood of $30 million and dared the company to release him.
