Union Grove girls, Locust Grove boys run to fifth place at state cross country meet

The Union Grove girls and Locust Grove boys cross county teams posted fifth-place finishes in Saturday’s state championship meet in Carrollton.

Gabby Parsons led the way for Union Grove with a seventh-place finish in Class AAAAA girls with a time of 19 minutes, 42.60 seconds. She was backed up by Bianca Parsons in 21st at 20:46.85, Carson Brantley in 36th at 21:45.09 and Lilly Dunn in 39th at 21:47.44. Teammates Nadia Sires (96th, 23:30.86) and Mikaylah Charles (100th, 23:36.44) also finished in the top 100.
