McDONOUGH — After eight months of training during the week and on weekends, Henry County High’s Navy JROTC Orienteering Team was able to reclaim the top spot among the nation’s most formidable teams.

Program officials said the team placed No. 1 among 3,000 JROTC units in nationally and abroad. The Warhawks ended their season in Harrison, Ohio, which hosted the U.S. Interscholastic – Intercollegiate “All Services” (Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corp JROTC units) Orienteering National Championships. The event is also known to be the “Super Bowl” of stateside orienteering competition.
