McDONOUGH — The Henry County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the purchase of body armour for the Police Department at its regular Tuesday evening meeting.

“Body armor has a five-year expiration on it so some of our body armor is coming due,” said Major Keith Going, indicating that more than one would be needed. “The purpose of this was to enter into negotiations with the purchasing department to get the lowest bidding, which we’ve done and in doing so Law Enforcement Supply of Georgia provided the lowest overall bid. This contract would be for the purpose of one year and it could be renewed for two additional one-year periods if chosen.”
