For the past 11 years, Connecting Henry, Inc., has taken the lead in helping thousands of needy families, through its Community Christmas Program. This year, however, plans are to take the community initiative to another level.

Officials with the McDonough-based, non-profit are anticipating that more than 2,000 youths would be helped through a new initiative. They estimate that about 800 of those children in Henry County would be classified as homeless.
