STOCKBRIDGE — A stable and calm temperament is what makes a 3-year-old Dutch shepherd the most fitting animal for a local Henry County police force.

Moose is the first fully certified police canine officer for the Stockbridge Police Department. The achievement — announced by the Police Department on Monday, Dec. 18 — is a result of more than two months of training where the furry friend learned how to track, trail and patrol at the Valhall K-9 International training facility in Hull.
