Homeless woman lands job using local nonprofit’s services

McDONOUGH — On one of the hottest days of the summer, many were happy to be outdoors lounging poolside. Meanwhile, one homeless woman was happy to be in the heat of a Checkers restaurant.

Satonya Maiden, 36, had been unemployed and homeless for three years until an assistant manager of a Checkers in McDonough, Chriscynthia Peavy, gave her hope by offering her a job.
