The script was always the same. A nice regular season of 20 wins and an encouraging first round sweep. Luella baseball had perfected the good-but-not-great season, a baseball journey worth watching, until the second round of the playoffs.

When the Lions authored a new script last season -- advancing the Class AAAAA quarterfinals for the first time in school history, going into the seventh inning at Lassiter with a five-run lead -- their audience changed, and grew.
