There’s an old story of a man who was on his death bed. He called in an enemy and said to him, “I want to forgive you for all the wrong you did to me.” Then he added. “But remember, if I get well, the old quarrel stands.” Forgiveness is rare.

Now, I’m not talking about God’s forgiveness as being rare. God is always ready to forgive. But I am talking about our human forgiveness as being rare. When you get right down to it, there’s just not a lot of human forgiveness out there.
