School remembers 9/11, celebrates public safety ‘heroes’

McDONOUGH The sun rose unobstructed over the horizon, lighting the middle school campus as two sixth-graders lowered the American flag to half-staff.

Its in remembrance of 9/11, said Darus Ussery, a staff member at Eagles Landing Middle School. He talked briefly to the pair of students about the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and remembrance of that day in history.
