Stockbridge City Council discusses changes to proposed $10.39 million FY 2017 budget

STOCKBRIDGE– Council members spent over two hours weighing in on the city of Stockbridge’s proposed Fiscal Year 2017 budget Monday during the first public hearing.

The FY 2017 budget was proposed at $10.39 million, up from FY 2016’s approved $9.06 million budget. The budget was drafted by Mayor Pro Tem Anthony Ford through consultation with city staff, he said, and proposes using over $1.5 million from fund reserve balance to fund proposed projects which include updating the disaster recovery program, establishing fiber optic network for city buildings, and replacing aging equipment.
