While there were some teenagers and young adults who did not pay any attention to the television last Tuesday, there were others, like myself, who camped out with a blanket and a few snacks, anxiously waiting up late into the night to see who would win the 2016 Presidential election.

The election, to say the least, was an intense, fluctuating, and drawn out event that put many viewers’ emotions on a virtual rollercoaster. It reminded me of an advanced game of catch-up as reporters announced, “Trump wins Ohio…Clinton wins Virginia…Trump wins Florida…Clinton wins California…” On the morning of Nov. 9, America was greeted with the news that Donald J. Trump had won the Presidential election.
