AIKEN, S.C. To say the Clayton State Laker womens basketball team turned up the defensive intensity on Friday against Tusculum was a huge understatement. It was more along the lines of a defensive clinic as Clayton State rolled past Tusculum 51-26 in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional at the Convocation.

Clayton State, ranked sixth in the nation in Division II, improves to 29-3 overall and advances to the second round of the NCAA Division II National Tournament. The Lakers will battle South Atlantic Conference champion Wingate on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
