McDONOUGH — The Ola Mustangs took an important step toward a potential playoff berth Friday with a 20-16 victory over the Locust Grove Wildcats in a crucial Region 4-AAAAA matchup.

Ola’s Chris Rodriguez opened the game with a 19-yard touchdown to put his team up 7-0. After Locust Grove senior running back Caleb Huntley answered with a touchdown of his own, prime field position gave the Wildcats a key opportunity to pick up their second score of the game in the second quarter.
