The 11th-seeded Georgia Bulldogs entered Hoover Metropolitan Stadium on Tuesday morning for their baseball game versus South Carolina with their backs against the wall, as the Bulldogs snuck into the SEC Tournament with a 9-5 win over LSU on Sunday.

After losing five out of the last six games to end of the regular season, the Bulldogs had fallen out of NCAA Tournament contention, meaning Georgia would have to win the SEC Tournament to make it into the field at 64. Scott Stricklin’s squad has been hampered by injury all year long, and were without Corey Collins, and All-SEC defensive team catcher Fernando Gonzalez in Tuesday’s game. Needing a win in the worst way, Georgia received a big boost on the Monday afternoon when it was announced that the Bulldogs ace left-hander Jaden Woods would take the ball for the postseason opener. Prior to Tuesday's game, Woods had been dealing with some tricep tendinitis for much of the year. Prior to the injury, the Warner Robins native had posted a 3-2 record.
