Henry County softball products played key roles as Gordon State softball won the first Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association regular season title in program history.

Ola grads Taylor McClendon and Abby Foster, Union Grove grads Camden Steele and Jordyn Dobson and Locust Grove grad Chandler Mitchell have contributed for the Highlanders, who take a 32-11 record into next week’s GCAA Tournament.

McClendon, a sophomore shortstop, is hitting .350 with 17 RBIs, 10 doubles and 21 walks, while Foster is hitting .333 with a home run, nine RBIs, three doubles and 11 walks as a freshman infielder. Dobson, a sophomore infielder, has a .261 average with two home runs, 16 RBIs, five doubles and a triple, and Steele, a freshman outfielder, has a .255 average with 12 RBIs, four doubles and a triple. Mitchell, a freshman infielder, is hitting .317 with three homers, 19 RBIs and six doubles.
