The Atlanta Falcons are releasing running back Devonta Freeman and cornerback Desmond Trufant, multiple outlets reported Monday.

Freeman, who turned 28 on Sunday, had three years and $21 million remaining on his contract. Cutting the two-time Pro Bowl selection saves Atlanta $3.5 million against the 2020 cap and leaves $6 million in dead money, according to ESPN.
